The European Investment Fund (EIF) was founded in 1994 to support Europe's small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) by enhancing their access to finance. As part of the EIB Group, the EIF makes it easier for SMEs and infrastructure projects to access finance and contributes to the EIB Group priorities and the EU's strategic policy objectives, aiming to generate significant investments across various sectors.
